Todd Tanaka is a well respected instructor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Todd is an extremely honorable and sincere person who teaches with those very same values.
He has just begun classes for children for the very first time and I cannot think of anyone better suited to instruct kids in this martial art.
Sensei Mitchel Shimamura - Roku Dan (6th Degree Black Belt)
Truly one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet, Sensei Mitchel learned the Matusbayashi-Ryu system and then Shinden Shorin Ryu, under the tutelage of reknownked Morita Sensei (Tommy Tomotsugu Morita 1919-2000). Mitchel achieved the rank of Roku Dan or 6th Degree Black Belt and after initally teaching at the Nuuanu YMCA Dojo, opened his own school located at the former YBA, now known as Hongwanji Mission School's Dojo's.

Hawaii Betsuin Aikido Club first started in 1984, the dojo was originally known as Young Buddhist Association (YBA) Aikido Club. The club later took on the name of Hawaii Betsuin Aikido Club (HBAC). HBAC is part of the Hawaii Aikido Federation (HAF) that is an affiliate of Aikikai Hombu Dojo, Tokyo Japan.
HBAC has been lead by Chief instructor, Gayne Sogi, 7th dan. He provides leadership for the club as he has from when the club first opened over 25 years ago.
